About

I’m a Catholic guy who began this blog during by seminary formation (2007-09) as I was discerning a call to the priesthood.  Years later, I want to blog my discernment as a married man as I grow to better understand God’s will for me.

I’ve grown up with Kermit the Frog (like most have), but I especially remember elementary school when Fr. Jerry (a ventriloquist) would do sermons with Kermit, Miss Piggy & Animal at children’s Masses. Fr. Jerry is one of many priests who modeled an attractive priesthood.

I use “Kermit” as a model for the priesthood for several reasons:Kermit nod

  • He wears a collar (visible)
  • He’s very reflective (prayerful)
  • He gives good advice (verbal)
  • He leads by example (does the right thing)
  • and he’s an overall great guy!

So as I blog, I want to ask W.W.K.D.? (what would Kermit do)

Kermit, in a nutshell, will be like my “online” spiritual director as I continually discern my vocation and God’s will for me.

As I write, hopefully some readers would speak for Kermit with some kibitz instead of “ribbits.” )

Kermit?  What do you think?  Anybody?

    Hey Chris,
Spoke to Rob today and he gave me the great news. I am so excited about your journey to the priesthood. I’ll be the first in line to read your book on how you got to this place. Meanwhile I’ll keep you and your family in prayer. Say HI to Sr. O, Frances and the gang in Miami. I enjoyed looking at the photos. Its great to know great programs are still going on. Hope to hear from you from time to time.
    In Christ’s love,
    Julie

    Hey,
I’ve never met you, but I’m 100% sure that you know my brother. He just began at St. John’s, and I only know because I hear about all these events that you are talking about. His name’s Bryan. I’m sure I will be meeting you soon. I am praying for each and every single one of you in there.
    Sincerely in Christ,
    Jen

    Hey!

I went through Pre-The at SJV back in 1981 — yeah, I’m old! I was a student at the same time as Fr. Vallee. Great blog. Do you have any pictures of the mural behind the main altar? I now live in Virginia, far far away and would like to have one.

    Blessings,

    Dear Chris,
I happened across your blog when searching for Saint Bernadette Church. I knew it had to be you. I heard you finally decided to become a priest. Congratulations! If not you; who? It seems obvious to me that G_d called you. I am so happy for you and for all those whose lives you will touch in your new role. “Henani”, you say.
By the way, the Diocese of Venice (Marco, Naples, Immokalee, Fort Myers, Sarasota) is looking for an overall Youth Director. I am not sure whether that is the actual title. I thought of you. I do not know whether it is something you can do while on your path. Maybe you know someone else good for the job.
Hope all is well. Hope Elizabeth is well, too. Fell free to email me.
    Sincerely,
    Lisa Gelman (formerly Torres)

I stumbled onto this blog. I am a candidate for Holy Orders in an Old Catholic Church and would love to follow your adventures. I know you may consider the teachings of the Old Catholic Church as non orthodox, but please consider yourself prayed for.

I stumbled across your website recently. I also wanted to point you to this billboard/poster from “For Better Life” … I thought it would go along well with the theme of your site: http://www.forbetterlife.org/billboards/live-your-dreams

I stumbled upon your website…congrats on sharing your spiritual journey with us! We – as in my family and our parish- are always praying for vocations so I am sure that some of those prayers are allocated for you! The more you talk to God the more He will help you in your discernment whatever that may be. If you can’t understand Him. He will just lead you by the hand. If you get lost, try His mother Mary. She will always lead you back to Him.
    All our best!

I am impressed, I must say. extremely seldom do I come across a blog thats each academic and entertaining, and let me tell you, youve hit the nail on the pinnacle. Your post is important; the matter is something that not many of us are speaking intelligently about. i’m really happy that I stumbled across this in my look for something concerning it.

    Hello,

I would like to tell you a little about CatholicAdNet and if you have any questions please let me know.

CatholicAdNet is an ad network company that specializes in connecting clean, faith-based advertisers with publishers. We recently launched our own header bidding adapter and want to see if there was an opportunity for us to be a header bidder on Catholic Kermit. We have direct advertisers from our Catholic and Christian demand and would like to help maximize your competition.

If you’re available, I’m happy to schedule a call sometime next week to discuss this further.

    Thank you!

    Sincerely,
    Emmy
